Tan Boon Hui

Current Director of The Singapore Art Museum

Tan Boon Hui has been serving as the Director of The Singapore Art Museum (SAM) since August 2009, having previously held the position of Deputy Director at The National Museum of Singapore.
His current responsibilities include transforming SAM into a leading center for contemporary Asian art.
In pursuit of this, he is working to build one of the most important public collections of contemporary art from Southeast Asia and establish a new platform for international exchanges. As the Director of SAM, he led the organizing committee of the Singapore Biennale in 2011 and 2013.

Britt Salvesen

Current Senior Curator at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

In October 2009, Britt Salvesen was appointed as a curator at The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), where she became the Senior Curator and Director of The Wallis Annenberg Department of Photographs and The Center for Creative Photography (CCP, University of Arizona). She also served as a collaborating curator for prints, drawings, and photographs at the Milwaukee Art Museum. She obtained her MA from The Courtauld Institute of Art in 1991 and a PhD from The University of Chicago in 1997.
Some of the major exhibitions curated by Britt Salvesen include New Topographics (2009), Catherine Opie: Figure and Landscape (2010), Sharon Lockhart I Noa Eshkol (2012), The Sun and Other Stars: Katy Grannan and Charlie White (2012), and she is currently planning exhibitions featuring works by Ed Ruscha, Robert Mapplethorpe, John Divola, and others.

He is an artist and critic, having participated in books such as . He has also curated exhibitions in New York, including 'Incongruent: Contemporary Art from South Korea.' Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA.

Suejin Shin

Director of the Ilwoo Photography Award; Photographer and Cognitive Scientist at Yonsei University Institute of Cognitive Science

She is a cognitive scientist specializing in photography and works at the Yonsei University Institute of Cognitive Science. She pioneered a unique field by integrating visual psychology and photographic theory, exploring the fusion of science and art. Engaging in foundational research analyzing photographic images using psychological research methods, she oversees various applied areas such as exhibition planning, publishing, photography education, and artist support. Currently, she holds various roles, including exhibition advisory board member at Artsonje Center, creative director at Hanjin Group Ilwoo Foundation, legal advisor for Imprima Korea's image copyright, advisory board member for the Han ASEAN Center, public relations advisor for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and director at Ryu Hwa-rang Foundation. She also contributes columns to Chosun Ilbo, Central Sunday, The Economist (Perspectives), and Monthly VON.

Joo Myung Deok

Born in 1940 in Anak, Hwanghae Province, he started learning photography in college, drawn to it almost as if by destiny. His first exhibition in 1966 created a significant social impact, leading him to choose photography as his profession. Starting with documentary photographs addressing social issues, he later shifted his focus to series capturing Korean nature and people, and subsequently, to landscape projects. With a steadfast commitment to black and white photography, he possesses exceptional skills in infusing new distinctions and vitality into objects within his photographs. Through a sincere and pure approach to his subjects, coupled with unwavering confidence, he has captured innovative photographs, embodying a lifelong love for Korea.
